Director Of Vocational Supports
Addison Group is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization that provides lifelong support services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Their programs promote independence, community inclusion, and meaningful employment for adults across the region.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Vocational Supports to lead a department focused on helping adults with developmental disabilities secure and maintain meaningful employment. This is a leadership-focused role, managing a large team of vocational managers and support staff. The ideal candidate will be passionate about workforce inclusion, team development, and program performance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a vocational department of 50+ staff, including 1012 vocational managers
- Provide mentorship, structure, and accountability to the team to ensure high-quality services
- Oversee department operations, compliance, and performance metrics
- Develop strategies for employer engagement and vocational training
- Maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and partners
- Align program goals with organizational mission and ensure regulatory compliance
- Champion participant rights, health, and safety in vocational settings
- Design and implement employment readiness programs tailored to participant needs
- Manage recruiting, training, and development of departmental staff
- Lead quarterly training sessions and support continuous improvement
- Evaluate staff performance and collaborate on career growth plans
- Promote effective use of internal systems and technology platforms
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required (Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or similar preferred)510+ years of progressive leadership experienceExperience managing a team of 10+ staff members requiredPrior experience in supported employment, nonprofit preferredFamiliarity with DDA (Developmental Disabilities Administration) a strong plusProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Carematic or CIMS is helpfulStrong interpersonal and communication skillsOrganized, approachable, and able to foster a culture of engagement and accountabilityAdditional Details :
