Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Behavioral Health Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 14 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Local Contract PSYCH RN - Akron, OH Nights - 13 weeks Local : $48 / hr - $1728 / wk gross @ 36 hrs 2 years of recent experience BLS, CPI in hand required Recent EPIC charting required December start dates Akron, Ohio Nursing Job Details Location : Akron, Ohio (44304) – Ohio healthcare jobs Unit : 4 East Detox (14-bed inpatient unit) Employment Type : Travel RN Contract Start Date : December 14, 2025 End Date : March 7, 2026 Contract Duration : 12 weeks Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Floating : Required to Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) and Med / Surg units Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (ASN or BSN from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program) CPI Blue Card from Crisis Prevention Institute (required for psychiatric nursing jobs) BLS certification (required) Minimum 2 years of recent Detox experience as a Registered Nurse Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months Ability to float to Behavioral Health and Medical-Surgical units Proficient in blood draws and IV management Strong communication and teamwork skills Interview required; please provide availability Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed Psychiatric RN Responsibilities Deliver direct nursing care to patients undergoing detoxification from opiates, benzodiazepines, and alcohol Monitor patient status, administer medications, and manage withdrawal symptoms Perform blood draws and IV management Collaborate with addiction medicine physicians and social workers for patient assessment and discharge planning Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR Float to Behavioral Health and Med / Surg units to support patient care Promote a safe, therapeutic environment using CPI de-escalation techniques Work every other weekend and participate in team-based care Ready to advance your nursing career in mental health and addiction recovery?
