Join Our Team at Newburgh Veterinary Hospital as a Kennel Assistant!

Do you have a passion for animals and love providing top-notch care? We’re looking for a dedicated Kennel Assistant to join our amazing team. In this role, you’ll be hands-on in the daily care of our patients and boarders—ensuring they are happy, healthy, and well cared for.

What You'll Do

  • Provide daily care for patients and boarders, including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and cleaning.
  • Safely handle and restrain pets when needed.
  • Monitor pet behavior and overall well-being, reporting any concerns to medical staff.
  • Support the veterinary team with patient care and treatment needs.

Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet in our care.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior animal care experience (kennel, shelter, vet clinic, or similar).
  • Physical ability to lift / move large pets and equipment.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently.
  • Compassionate and attentive to pets’ needs, with the ability to recognize signs of stress or illness.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude—smiles and laughter encouraged!
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
  • Must pass reference checks, background check, and drug screening.
