We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for civil construction projects, including site development, earthwork, utilities, paving, and concrete structures. This role requires strong analytical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids.

Responsibilities

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, concrete, asphalt, and other civil construction components.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals and submit estimates within required deadlines.
  • Work with project managers and engineers to evaluate design documents and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain cost databases, production rates, and historical project data for accurate forecasting.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as needed.
  • Assist in project handoff to operations team to ensure accurate transition from estimate to execution.
  • Monitor market conditions, material pricing, and industry trends to keep estimates current and competitive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of estimating experience in civil construction or related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (such as HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) for reviewing, measuring, and interpreting plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and civil drawings.
  • Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
