Loan Repayment Eligibility : National Health Service Corps, Pennsylvania Loan Repayment Program, or Project MedSend
Language Requirement : Spanish proficiency preferred; willingness to learn required
Position Summary
The Physician provides high-quality, Christ-centered primary care to patients of all ages in a community health setting. This includes managing acute and chronic medical conditions, collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams, mentoring students and mid-level providers, and supporting Esperanza's spiritual mission. Physicians must be committed to biblical ethics in medical practice and care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence & Workflow
- Arrive to shifts and meetings on time and prepared
- Complete clinical documentation within 24 hours of patient visits
- Maintain current licensure, DEA registration, and CME credits
- Manage patient panels and meet personal volume targets
- Respond promptly to urgent patient calls and messages
Team-Based Care
Lead and participate in team huddlesDelegate responsibilities to medical assistants and support staff effectivelyEnsure timely follow-up for chronic conditions, abnormal labs, and no-showsCoordinate care for walk-ins and unscheduled patientsEncourage efficiency and minimize patient wait timesModel positive, respectful communication with all team membersChart and complete referrals in real time when possibleClinical Judgment
Deliver appropriate care based on established clinical guidelinesPractice cost-effective, evidence-based medicinePerform and document procedures accurately and safelyMaintain up-to-date problem and medication listsFollow up on all high-risk labs and referralsAvoid prescribing or referring for elective pregnancy terminations; follow a biblical ethic on reproductive healthHolistic & Spiritual Care
