We're looking for Maintenance Technicians who are skilled, safety-driven, and ready to take on a critical role maintaining the fixed facilities that power this groundbreaking transit system.
- Duties of a Maintenance Technician (Fixed Facilities at LAX APM) :
As a Fixed Facilities Maintenance Technician, you’ll work with minimal supervision to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the structures, equipment, and grounds that support LAX’s APM. Your day could include :
- Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures
- Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems
- Conducting visual rounds, facility inspections, and maintaining detailed equipment logs
- Using blueprints, layouts, and wiring diagrams to carry out repairs and installations
- Troubleshooting complex systems and executing lockout / tagout procedures
- Working across trades – from carpentry and painting to system diagnostics and emergency response
- Ensuring all work is done safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards
Minimum Requirements :
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in the English Language
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to work a 24 / 7 / 365 schedule, including weekends & holidays
- Must be able to work variable hours and shifts
- Basic mechanical or maintenance experience, understanding of use with general hand tools
- Disciplined, self-starter, ability to handle down time and high stress
- Must obtain and maintain certifications in compliance with all state and federal regulations applicable to this position
- Basic computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office programs
- Safety first attitude required. Ability to perform all work using the proper personnel protective equipment (PPE) and in strict accordance with all applicable safety policies, procedures and practices required.
