Job Title : Business Systems AnalystJob Description
A large government firm in Seattle, WA is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst for a 6-8 week contract to assist with year-end tasks. This role is 100% remote, requiring an initial visit to Seattle to collect equipment.
Responsibilities
Review and assess current payroll configurations and coding structures to identify gaps in tracking FLSA-only overtime.
Analyze historical and current payroll data to segregate FLSA-qualified overtime from non-FLSA overtime.
Calculate the premium portion of FLSA overtime for eligible employees and ensure comprehensive reporting.
Collaborate with Payroll and Business Technology Teams to validate logic and align with reporting requirements.
Develop and document a methodology for 2025 in line with Treasury guidance, including reconciliation and validation logic.
Prepare data for Form W-2 reporting and internal audit purposes.
Provide training or documentation for internal staff to ensure compliant tracking beyond the contract term.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Alteryx, Oracle Fusion, and complex accounting systems.
Strong understanding of federal tax deductions, W-2 reporting, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Experience with payroll accounting, general ledger, and tax accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of broad-based accounting and proficiency with interrelationships of data using tools like PowerBI.
Experience in developing automated workflows using data analytics tools.
Work Environment
This position is 100% remote, with an initial requirement to visit Seattle to collect necessary equipment. The role is based at the firm's headquarters, providing an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00 / hr.
