Job Title: Stress Engineer
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Stress Engineer to engage in detailed component design and FEA-based stress analysis. The role involves conceptual design work and significant application of design principles to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and inspection readiness. You will work with a diverse cross-functional team to design and analyze metallic parts using various manufacturing methods, and perform stress analysis emphasizing structural dynamics, fatigue, and nonlinear solutions.
Responsibilities
- Create conceptual sketches and CAD designs for drafting teams.
- Perform FEA tasks, from simple geometry creation to final analysis reports.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers, Drafters, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Test Lab Personnel, Contracts, and Sales.
- Engage in all phases of the product life cycle, including new product development, legacy product support, research and development, and failure analysis.
- Develop custom design and task automation tools using Excel (VBA), MATLAB, Python, and software APIs.
- Conduct internal flow and external insulation calculations using in-house tools.
- Travel up to 15% for software training and customer support during design phases.
Essential Skills
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Astronautical or similar Engineering field; MS Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering design environment.
- 6+ years of experience with finite element analysis stress software (HyperWorks, Femap/NASTRAN, or ANSYS Mechanical).
- 4+ years of experience specifically with HyperWorks.
- Expertise in data analysis and reduction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with linear and nonlinear static FEA solutions, modal, harmonic response, and random response.
- Experience with topology optimization and simulation of metal forming methods.
- Experience in designing for metallic additive manufacturing with SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar drafting software.
- Experience with Stainless Steel, Titanium, Inconel, and other superalloys.
- Proficiency in applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5:2018 (and/or 2009).
- Experience in MRB review and disposition of nonconforming hardware.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will be part of a collaborative team under the supervision of a Design Engineer. The environment supports professional growth as the team is expanding due to successful program wins and new product introductions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
