Description :

This unit is focused on providing quality care to patients.

The stepdown unit manages a variety of cardiac surgery postoperative patients, including those who have undergone CABG, valve replacements, and heart transplants.

Additionally, the unit cares for vascular surgery postoperative patients and cardiology cases such as STEMI, heart failure, and various cardiac catheterization procedures.

Staffing includes a ratio of 1 RN to 3 patients and clinical associates assisting in patient care.

Registered Nurses are required to monitor and titrate medications such as heparin, amiodarone, and others.

The unit is equipped with necessary respiratory technology.

There are monitor techs on the unit who interpret all cardiac strips.

RNs are encouraged to work together in a supportive team environment.

Floating to similar units may be required.

The dress code consists of solid royal blue and white attire.

Nurses on this unit are recognized for their dedication to patient care.
