Summary :
Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems and eliminating future operational or service difficulties with equipment which includes industrial ovens, environmental simulation test chambers, and pharmaceutical equipment with the brand names Tenney, Blue M and Gruenberg by performing the following duties :
This position is located remotely in Southern California. Candidates will live and work from this location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may indirectly supervise or coordinate personnel and job functions at work sites.
Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience : Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor to interact with customers.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills : Basic computer experience, including MS Office and email.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Universal Refrigeration certification and / or an Electrical certificate / training, especially working with high voltage power, is required. Also required is a current, valid driver's license.
Other Qualifications : Able to read both electrical schematics and plumbing diagrams and troubleshoot wiring using multi-meters and amp probes. Able to program and adjust PLCs and VFDs and troubleshoot process control systems as well as understand and troubleshoot electrical and gas fired heating systems. Must be a self-starter and able to work without constant supervision and be willing work overtime on an as-needed basis to maintain customer and company deadlines. Must be able to travel 85% of the time domestically and internationally to customer locations to perform installations, repairs and maintenance as required. Ability to use hand and power tools is also required.
