Position Description
The Retirement Plan Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the administration of employer-sponsored retirement plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional service to plan sponsors and participants. This position is ideal for individuals eager to build a career in retirement plan administration. Core Responsibilities
Client Support
- Manage the processing of all distribution requests including termination, rollovers, in-service withdrawals, force-outs, and other participant transactions.
- Assist in the day-to-day administration of retirement plans, including data entry, and participant communications.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from plan sponsors and participants, providing accurate information and guidance on plan processes.
- Support clients in understanding their responsibilities in meeting IRS and Department of Labor regulations and deadlines necessary for qualified retirement plans.
- Aid in the preparation and filing of required government forms, such as Form 5500 and 8955-SSA, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Assist with loan processing by reviewing paperwork and coordinating with asset holders.
- Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear, concise, and informative matter.
Internal Shepherd Plan Partners Support
Support team members with compliance testing, Form 5500s, loans, and distributions.Assist with plan software, reporting, and other internal systems.Assist with additional projects and tasks as assigned.Protect, secure, and properly handle all confidential data held by Shepherd Plan Partners to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Shepherd Plan Partners or our clients.Position Expectations
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferredPrior experience or coursework in retirement plan administration, employee benefits, or financial services preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy in workAbility to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and follow processes for client and business operationsCompliance with Shepherd Financial’s internal policiesReturn or acknowledge emails and phone calls from clients within 24 hoursDocument all client interactions in internal systems within 24 hoursSuccessful completion of the following ASPPA courses within the first 12 months of employment :Introduction to Retirement PlansRetirement Plan FundamentalsQualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) certificationCompensation and Benefits
