Job descriptionE nsure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental laws, including PCB oil testing, handling, and disposal. O versee permitting, hazardous waste management, emissions, and recycling programs tied to surplus and repair equipment. D irect environmental audits, inspections, and corrective actions. S tandardize and oversee safety programs across all facilities in compliance with OSHA and NFPA standards. L ead investigations of incidents and near misses; implement corrective and preventive measures. E nsure robust safety training programs (PPE, hazard communication, emergency response, etc.). O versee occupational health initiatives, including ergonomics, exposure monitoring, and industrial hygiene. D irect the company's workers' compensation program, including claims management, return-to-work strategies, and insurance coordination. P artner with HR, legal, and insurance providers to reduce liabilities and costs. C onduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits; use KPIs and data to anticipate and prevent issues . M aintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and applicable state / local regulations. S erve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and insurers. O versee all reporting obligations, including OSHA logs, environmental disclosures, and sustainability metrics. B achelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering; Master's preferred. 1 5+ years of progressive EHS leadership in industrial or manufacturing environments. M ulti-site or corporate-level EHS program leadership experience strongly preferred. E xperience managing workers' compensation programs required. C SP, CIH, CHMM, ISO 14001 / 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred) E xpert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA standards. S trong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills. E xecutive-level communication and influence across all levels of an organization. A nalytical and data-driven, with ability to translate insights into action.
The Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) provides enterprise-wide leadership for environmental compliance, occupational health, workplace safety, and workers' compensation programs. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA, and state-level regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement. The Director partners with executives, operations, HR, and engineering leaders to integrate EHS into daily operations and long-term strategy. The ideal candidate would be within commuting distance of our Temple, TX or Sharon, PA corporate office.

- S erve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on EHS performance, risks, and opportunities.
- L ead and develop EHS teams across multiple sites; ensure accountability and consistency.
- C hampion a culture of safety ownership, compliance, and continuous improvement.
