Associate Attorney

Brandon, Schmidt, & Montgomery (BSM) is an insurance defense and medical malpractice defense law firm located in Carbondale, Illinois. The attorneys at BSM have over 100 years of combined experience. BSM is seeking an associate attorney (0-5 years) for full-time employment.

Applicants should have excellent communication, writing, and legal research skills, as well as a strong understanding of legal principles.

The Associate Attorney position responsibilities include :

• Attend court hearings and depositions
• Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Conduct legal research and analysis
• Prepare reports to insurance companies
• Negotiate settlements
• Keep up to date on changes in the law and legal developments
