Responsibilities Work in a hospital setting on a 3rd floor Med / Surg Telemetry unit Unit consists of 10 private room beds and 1 observation bed Adult and geriatric patient population with various acute and chronic medical and post-surgical diagnoses, including telemetry monitoring for up to 4 patients with stable dysrhythmias Typical diagnoses include COVID, telemetry patients, post-surgical, CVA, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Required to cover every 2nd to 3rd weekend Float required to 2 other Med / Surg units as needed Uses Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication framework Uses safe patient handling equipment and bladder scanners Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, caring for patients with a range of medical and post-surgical needs, and managing acute and chronic conditions Expected to assist with wound care, surgical drain and chest tube management, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions Team environment with requirement to float based on clinical skills and staffing needs Navy blue scrubs required First-time travelers are accepted Locals accepted at the same rate Requirements Active IL RN license in hand at time of consideration BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Skills in Med / Surg, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response protocols, and IV insulin protocols Experience with phlebotomy, peripheral / PICC line management, feeding tube and colostomy care, pre / post hemodialysis management, and blood product administration Preferred previous charge nurse experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625798.
