Job description

Aerospace and Aviation Manager

You will apply modern managerial methods and principles to the overhaul, modification, and repair of various types of aircraft, aircraft engines, aircraft components, and related aeronautical material.

You will analyze, interpret, and detail implementation of policies and directives issued by the Industrial and Logistic Operations Group Head, and other higher authority.

You will perform complex, difficult and varied functions of broad scope in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the technical and administrative work of the department.

You will ensure adequate people, processes, facilities, and budget resources needed to hire, staff, train, develop, deploy, discipline, reward, and execute the daily production operations are obtained.

You will provide the motivating forces to implement and accomplish the various functions of the department.

Requirements :

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.

Qualifications :

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : Mastery in the ability to identify, understand, and manage risk as it pertains to the specialized product line; Successfully planning for and synthesizing requirements for multi-competency areas, including engineering, logistics, budget, planning, quality assurance, evaluation, industrial engineering and other functional specialties into integrated strategies and processes to effectively execute the production commitments; Extensive ability to lead multidisciplinary IPTs and manage group dynamics; Mastery in the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of personnel and management officials (military and civilian), fleet customers, visitors and Headquarters, to negotiate effectively, be persuasive, secure required support and to present briefs.
