Job descriptionICP-OES / ICP-MS – trace metal quantification GFAA / CVAAS / CVAFS – sensitive detection of specific metals (e.g., mercury) Colorimetric methods – spectrophotometric metal testing Block digestors – wet chemistry sample prep following EPA methods QA / QC procedures in compliance with EPA and NELAC guidelines Calibration, blanks, LCS, spikes, duplicates Proficiency in conducting or participating in internal audits Adherence to SOPs Data entry, result reporting, flagging issues Maintaining data integrity and traceability Cross-functional teamwork with QA staff and fellow analysts Willingness to support ad hoc assignments or investigations Effective communication of anomalies or improvements Education : B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related discipline Experience : 1–3+ years in an environmental lab focused on metals Certifications (if applicable) : NELAC, EPA certifications, LIMS training
Job Description
Position Summary
An Environmental Analyst in the Metal Section performs laboratory-based testing and analysis of metals in environmental samples using advanced analytical instruments. The role emphasizes data accuracy, adherence to EPA protocols, and upholding quality assurance standards.
Pay rate : $21 / hr

- Metal analysis in environmental matrices (water, soil, sludge, etc.)
