Chief Medical Officer (CMO) - Family Medicine | Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
Mission City Community Network, Inc. is a non-profit organization of multiple clinics operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center. We are dedicated to serving low income families in the San Fernando Valley, San Gabriel Valley, South Bay and San Bernardino areas. We are currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and talented Chief Medical Officer to join our team.
The CMO will be responsible for providing oversight and medical expertise in implementing the Medical Management Program. The CMO promotes the organizational goals and objectives and assures that quality health care services are delivered by the physician groups. Includes clinical care, administrative and supervisory responsibilities.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Recruits, hires, trains, counsels and evaluates technical and professional staff involved in the delivery of clinical services including Quality Management and Utilization Management, Credentialing / Re‑credentialing / Process.
- Participates in the overall development and directions of the Clinical Program.
- Implements the Utilization Management Plan and Quality Management Plan through the Chairmanship of both UM and QM Committees.
- Serves as on‑call after‑hour service and coordinates with other specialties such as Psychiatry.
- Establishes and maintains standards and protocols of medical care practiced by the Physician groups.
- Monitors the practice of medicine and the implementation of managed care processes.
- Promotes continuing medical education opportunities for internal and external clients.
- Reviews quality of care issues and provides corrective action plans, education, and counseling through UM and QM Committees.
- Assures standards of care provided by contracted and ancillary providers meet organizational and nationally recognized standards of care.
- Develops or evaluates policies regarding medical practice and clinical issues.
- Participates in the development of innovative case management, high‑risk assessment, and other activities to improve quality of care and control costs.
- Communicates with regulatory agencies and maintains understanding of NCQA and HEDIS standards.
- Analyzes data sets, utilization reports and physician practice profiling to improve provider performance and quality of care.
- Provides evaluation and appropriate action to improve provider performance and quality of care in credentialing / Re‑credentialing principles and methods in clinical updates.
- Monitors credentialing and re‑credentialing of all practitioners and reports results to the board of directors for final approval.
- Chairs the UM and QM Committee Meetings with clear commitment to continuity of the process and orderly communication of clinical information to the Board of Directors and provider network.
- Participates in the evolution and refinement of the quality improvement process as well as other committees such as Senior Management and Emergency Preparedness.
- Completes special projects as deemed necessary by the CEO.
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree with a current California medical license.Minimum 5 years of experience as a Primary Care Physician.Minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role in a primary care health setting.Board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine required.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent leadership skills, demonstrated ability to lead in changing environments.Willing and able to work a varied and flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of MCCN and its patients.Accepts travel assignments to various sites as needed.Benefits
