Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg RN with Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic proficiency for a dayshift contract in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg inpatient overflow unit
  • Day shift schedule : 7 : 00AM – 7 : 30PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Patient population includes adult medical-surgical cases in an overflow setting
  • Level 1 Trauma environment exposure is required
  • Epic EMR system is used and experience is required
  • Responsible for comprehensive nursing care including assessments, medication administration, safety protocols, and patient / family education
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide coordinated care and ensure patient safety
  • Maximum of seven requested days off allowed during the 13-week contract
  • No travel partner placements accepted for this assignment
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Holiday and weekend coverage may be required in accordance with unit needs
  • Returning travelers are not eligible for continuous assignments exceeding one year without a six-month break

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one year recent Med / Surg RN experience
  • Documented Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required
