A Brief Overview

The Division of Pediatric Urology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking to recruit a fulltime Pediatrician to staff the Dysfunctional Outpatient Voiding Education (DOVE) clinical program. Applicant must be trained in pediatrics or relevant pediatric subspecialties and be board certified in pediatrics with at least three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience. Clinical focus will be on evaluating and treating pediatric bladder dysfunction. No prior urologic experience treating these conditions is required and on-site education / training will be provided. There are no call responsibilities.

The physician who evaluates, treats, manages patients with bladder dysfunction and associated conditions, documents medical findings in EPIC, provides support to patients, families and colleagues, collaborates with other relevant specialists, office administration and nursing staff. Will see pediatric patients of all ages, both male and female and will diagnose and treat various conditions associated with bladder dysfunction. Order and interpret labs, imaging and other testing as appropriate and consult other specialists when needed. Be familiar with an electronic medical record. Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, legal, regulatory and clinical standards and requirements including (but not limited to) : HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission, DOH and CLIA. May represent CHOP with external organizations, professional associations upon request.

About the Department

The new physician will join a team of 13 pediatric urologist, 2 clinical psychologist, a social worker, and a full complement of advanced practice providers. Full-time status includes (1.0 FTE) includes clinical responsibilities at CHOP's Philadelphia, King of Prussia campus and Abington satellite office.

What you will do

  • Direct Clinical Activities
  • Provide direct patient care to a panel of patients with bladder dysfunction and associated conditions / symptoms in the practice.
  • May supervise clinical providers including resident physicians and advanced practice provider and provide performance feedback in all aspects of clinical functions.
  • Supervise and ensure high quality of all clinical care services provided in the practice.
  • Continually review current pediatric urology standards of care and work with leadership team to implement new processes as needed. Respond to clinical alerts and updates from public health officials and others.
  • Educational Activities
  • May provide support and leadership for resident / medical student education curriculum and program implementation.
  • Research Activities
  • May participate in and / or oversee research activities, as needed, at the practice and provide feedback and consultation for studies as they progress. Delegate operational functions to other support staff as needed to accomplish the research goals and objectives.
  • Administrative Activities (if indicated)
  • May assist with management of the Practice :
  • Evaluate and effectively manage patient access, patient flow, quality improvement, staff performance, effective work teams.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental standards, policies, guidelines and protocols.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Education Qualifications

  • Doctorate Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices and protocols as well as applicable regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. (Required proficiency)
  • Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making. (Required proficiency)
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports. (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and electronic). (Required proficiency)
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Medical License - in Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and any states practicing in - upon hire - Required and
  • Board Certification - Medical Sub / Specialty - - upon hire - Required and
  • DEA License - - upon hire - Required

    SALARY RANGE :

    $36,279.00 - $678,760.00 Annually
