Detailed Radiology Technologist Role
Perform a variety of radiographic procedures to capture high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and be able to effectively communicate with patients and medical staff.
Key Responsibilities :
Administer general and specific x-rays using prescribed techniques
Position and immobilize patients as necessary, using appropriate lead shielding
Adjust equipment and calculate exposure factors to achieve optimal image quality
Assist physicians with imaging processes and follow Radiology Department protocols
Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork
Provide protection to patients, family members, staff, and self in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards
Qualifications and Requirements :
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications :
CPR certification (Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer) within 30 days
New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy License (NMMIRT)
ARRT certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
No minimum experience required, but bilingual English / Spanish is preferred
Physical Demands and Working Conditions :
The physical demands of this role include heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. On-call duties may be required.
