Job Description

This position will support the American Indian Consultation Program (AICP). Key responsibilities will include assisting the AICP program manager and coordinator with scheduling and facilitating consultations under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The consultations will include written communications in-person workshops assembling artifact collections summary reports and field visits to locations associated with the artifact collections. The AICP Assistant will complete tasks related to scheduling writing editing workshop setup field visit logistics and the like. The Assistant may also assist with the annual Tribal Update Meeting and semi-annual Tribal Planning Committee Field Visits as well as data entry and other clerical tasks.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree from accredited college or university.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience coordinating and scheduling events.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Skilled in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to conduct fieldwork in remote locations and varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

Education or training in Indigenous Studies Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and / or National Historic Preservation Act.

Document editing experience.

ArcGIS Pro experience.

HOURS / PAY

The position is part-time and onsite averaging no more than 19 hours per week. Pay rate is $22 / hour. During workshops and field visits the hours may be higher based on program needs.

Conditions of Employment

This position is contingent upon available funding for the AICP program and may be terminated for lack of funding or performance.

U.S. Citizenship is required due to project funding requirements.
