American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department night shift position requiring a NE or compact RN license and advanced life support certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department within an acute care settingUnit has 20 beds including 5 trauma, 10 observation, and 6 Fast Track bedsPatient population includes trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke patientsNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in zones, 1 : 6 in Fast Track, 1 : 5 in OBS, and 1 : 1 for ICU / TraumaRNs are responsible for reading and interpreting their own tele strips12-hour night shifts with varied weekend and holiday requirementsFloating is required to the OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a weekUses Epic EMR system; experience with Epic is preferredResponsibilities include providing advanced emergency care and responding to high-acuity trauma casesMust pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%One week of onboarding and orientation includes two shifts at main ER and one shift at urgent care locationArtificial nails are prohibited for all clinical staffOnsite security is provided 24 / 7 and housed in the ERLimited RTO is allowed, with a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contractTeam structure includes physicians, mid-levels, charge nurse, aids, EMTs, paramedics, patient sitters, and tele / monitor techs\n \n Requirements\n
Active NE or compact RN license required at the time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Dept RN experience requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required; NRP is preferredDriver's license required to confirm candidate lives at least 50 miles from the facilityCandidate may not have worked in any capacity with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facilities within the past yearMust provide professional references : one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
