NV5 is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to develop electrical plans and specifications, reports and cost estimates on a number of concurrent projects. Responsibilities are as follows :

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical engineering tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer and / or project manager.
• Able to lead most electrical design tasks on a project with occasional supervision from senior engineers, including lighting, power, fire alarm, nurse call, essential electrical systems and telecommunications infrastructure design.
• Obtains and documents field data by conducting field visits to project sites.
• Has experience performing construction administration tasks, such as, reviewing shop drawings / submittals, requests for information (RFI's), conducting field inspections, conducting punch list observations, preparing revisions to contract documents (i.e. addenda, bulletins, etc.)
• May supervise junior electrical designers and review work of junior level designers to ensure quality.
• Assists senior engineers and project managers with project planning, managing schedules and budgets to complete work on time and within budget.
• Obtains knowledge of building codes and stays current with building code changes.
• Performs equipment takeoffs for estimating purposes.
• Develops plans, specifications and cost estimates for a limited number of concurrent projects.
• Prepares studies, drawing or sketches as required; creates final design documents.
• May communicate with clients or architects to resolve issues with engineering designs.
• Perform BIM / CAD functions proficiently in the electrical discipline and will use Revit and / or AutoCAD MEP software to transfer design concepts to a format acceptable to the client, architect and / or construction company in accordance with NV5 standards
