Hall, Inc., a leading provider of facilities services, and in partnership with our client in Savannah, GA, is looking for Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Technicians skilled in the maintenance and operation of large axial fans and motorized dampers. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and operations associated with general HVAC systems.

Job Title : Licensed HVAC Technician

Job Summary : The HVAC Technician will work in a commercial and industrial environment and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large air handling systems, building automation, and refrigeration systems.

Critical Duties and Responsibilities :

• Troubleshoot fan controls and damper operations.
• Lubrication of moving parts.
• Disassemble / assemble fan components, such as blades, motors, shaft bearings, vibration isolation, and electrical connections.
• Disassemble / assemble sheet metal and flexible ductwork components and devices used in the transfer of conditioned air.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading.
• Cut, thread, or join pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders.
• Read and interpret full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, including plans, sections, details, and one-line system views
• Create construction or installation diagrams.
• Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
• Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.
• Plan layout of construction, installation, or repairs.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
• Install plumbing, heating, refrigeration piping and assemble component devices to construct complete and functioning HVAC systems
• Modify, clean, or maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment, using hand or power tools.
• Clean equipment or facilities.
• Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
• Install automatic controls to regulate water piping systems.
• Install gauges or controls.
• Shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
• Identify, remove, and replace worn components.
• Remove worn, damaged or outdated materials from work areas.
• Inspect work sites to identify potential environmental or safety hazards.
• Install fixtures, appliances, or equipment designed to reduce water or energy consumption.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.
• Maintain heating, chilled, and condenser water system pumps and piping systems.
• Operate and maintain other electrical, mechanical, and ventilation systems, vacuum and circulating pumps, and water softeners. Adjust as required and perform preventive maintenance in accordance with prescribed schedules.
• Make daily visual safety inspections of mechanical equipment.
• Must be able to distinguish problems and anomalies from normal operating parameters and record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences to shift supervisor.
• Maintain records of fuel consumption, maintenance services, repairs, and supplies. Log pertinent data, including discrepancies, report deficiencies to a supervisor immediately for follow-up.
• Observe water level, pressures and temperatures and adjust equipment to ensure safe and constant operation of equipment. Perform water quality checks for the heating water, chilled water, and condenser water systems; and update appropriate equipment and system logs.
• Possess adequate sight, hearing and speaking capabilities to maintain a safe working condition and be able to distinguish wire colors and component color codes.
