The Journeyman Diesel Mechanic works the SECOND SHIFT from 4 : 00pm to approximately 2 : 00am to service the Puget Sound area of our fleet. This role offers you some interesting advantages and the opportunity to work with a diverse fleet of trucks and heavy equipment.

Requirements
5+ years of diesel mechanic / journeyman experienceSkill maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and heavy equipmentManual transmission diagnoses and serviceHydraulic, air and electric brake troubleshooting and repair; brake certificationKnowledge of regulations; DOT certification and history of performing DOT inspectionsExperience with computerized diagnostic equipmentOwns tools (up to 2" sockets and wrenches, ½"-drive, etc.)Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; CDL Class A preferredSchedule flexibility to meet seasonal peak and other business demandsThis position works 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with additional Saturday work, depending on demand. Demand tends to ebb and flow, particularly seasonally, so schedule flexibility and willingness to work overtime will be essential.
The Role
Duties
Maintain and repair a fleet of trucks and heavy equipment, including pavers, backhoes, rollers, excavators and more; perform hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic diagnosis and repair, both in the shop and in the fieldComplete routine inspections on trucks and equipment as necessaryKeep accurate records in the shop maintenance system (RTA) of all repairsAssist with or complete fabrication of parts / tools necessary for tasksOrder and organize parts, maintain stock, and coordinate with the Shop Foreman to ensure parts are documented, ordered, and receivedRemain at the shop on designated late nights until all crews have returnedComply with and follow all safety regulationsPerform other duties as requiredAbout Us
