Physician - Gastroenterologist

Summary

This is an Open Continuous Announcement. Applications in USA Staffing will be qualified based on the resume submitted, and qualified candidates will be referred to the hiring manager every 2 weeks until the announcement is closed, canceled, or filled. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements :

• U.S. Citizenship : Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens, per VA policy.
• Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
• Residency Training : Completion of residency training approved by the VA in an accredited core specialty leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Residents enrolled in ACGME / AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and appointed on an intermittent or fee basis.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
