Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Department.
In this role, you'll design and program control systems for custom conveyor solutions, working directly with mechanical engineers, project managers, and field installation crews to deliver reliable, high-performing systems to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Review : Analyze project-specific documents, customer specifications, proposals, contracts, and amendments to determine electrical engineering requirements.
- Electrical Design : Design electrical control panels using AutoCAD Electrical. Create Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate purchasing for required components.
- PLC & HMI Programming : Develop, test, and implement Allen-Bradley PLC and HMI programs for custom conveyor systems.
- Field Support : Provide remote or on-site assistance to installation crews for troubleshooting, commissioning, and startup of systems.
- Scheduling : Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop and maintain project schedules for electrical engineering deliverables.
- Cost Management : Support project cost control efforts for the Electrical Engineering and Installation Departments.
- Safety & Organization : Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while following company safety policies.
- Teamwork : Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers, electricians, and fabrication teams to achieve project goals.
- Travel (Optional) : Travel is available but not required.
- Travel opportunities include performing service calls, assisting startups, or joining pre-installation site visits with Sales and Engineering.
- Travel will be based on your preference and availability.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.Proficiency in AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred).Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI development (RSLogix / Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, or similar).Strong understanding of control panel design, wiring practices, and electrical codes (UL, NFPA 70E).Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.Occasional travel flexibility a plus (but not required).Competitive pay based on experience.Medical insurance – $1,500 deductible plan.Dental and vision insurance.$50,000 life insurance policy (company-paid).401(k) with company match.Weekly pay.Long-term career stability in a growing company with a hands-on, family-oriented culture.J-18808-Ljbffr
