About the role!
The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for psychiatric assessment and treatment of children and their families as well as responsible for interdisciplinary collaboration as needed. This position currently reports to the Medical Director.
As a Staff Psychiatrist you will :
Provide psychiatric assessment to children and their families both in person and via telemedicine.
Provide psychiatric treatment to children and their families which may include medication individual dyadic group family and / or collateral therapy.
Collaborate with other professionals within and outside the clinic to coordinate clinical care and other services.
Attend staff and administrative meetings and serve on committees as needed to improve program quality and support organizational development.
Be available to participate in the selection and supervision of trainees / staff as well as possible participation in training seminars.
Follow all administrative guidelines including maintaining timely medical records and following billing intake and case management procedures in a timely manner.
Maintain caseload expectations and provide backup coverage as determined by department manager.
Maintain valid licenses with both California and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) meeting all requirements including Continuing Medical Education Credits in a timely fashion.
Follow professional ethical legal and confidentiality guidelines outlined by the California Medical Board The American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and State and Federal laws.
Be available for presentations and discussions for the community.
Be available for special projects such as new programs in the community.
Be available to provide supervision consultation and back-up clinical coverage to other CHC staff and trainees as needed.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Experience with children adolescents and young adults through age 25 is required.

Familiarity with electronic health records and email systems.
Some experience / past training (preferred).
About your background (education / experience) :
M.D. or D.O. from accredited Medical School.
Successful completion of General Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Residency from accredited institutions.
Board Certifiable or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Active California State License.
Active DEA license.
Working Conditions
Physical Requirements :
An employee in this position may be required to occasionally lift move and / or set up stacks of documents laptop computers in focus projectors flip charts and other materials.
Employee will also be required to work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal.
Special Job Requirements :
To meet the needs of our clients flexibility in work schedule is required.
Ability to work after school hours.
Able to provide holiday and weekend coverage occasionally as needed.
This is a part time position (between 20 to 25 hours / week).

Extensive interpersonal interaction with peers and outside contacts.
Compensation listed is representative of a 1.0 FTE (40 hour work week). Compensation for this role will be adjusted for a 0.50-0.75 FTE (20-25 hour / week schedule)
Range : $310000-$350000 per year
