Registered Nurse – Mother Baby (Float Pool)

Facility : Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH)

Location : 1000 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019

Start Date : December 1, 2025

Duration : 13 Weeks (Estimated End Date : February 28, 2026)

Shift : Nights – 3x12 Hours (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Schedule : Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required

Position Overview

The Mother Baby RN provides safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to postpartum, antepartum, and newborn patients within the Women & Children's Services department.

This is a Mother Baby Float Pool position , requiring flexibility to support units including Labor & Delivery (L&D), Antepartum, and Postpartum as needed.

Nurses deliver relationship-centered care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and experiences.

  • Requirements

  • Licensure : Active New York State RN License – Required (in good standing)
  • Education :
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) : Required – Non-negotiable

  • Associate degree considered only if actively enrolled in a BSN program
  • Experience :
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Postpartum, Antepartum, and / or Labor & Delivery Required

  • Magnesium Sulfate administration experience – Required
  • Newborn Assessment and Postpartum Care skills – Required
  • 1 year travel experience Preferred (not required for per diem)
  • Charting System : Epic – Highly Preferred
  • Certifications

  • BLS (AHA) : Required
  • ACLS (AHA) : Required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) : Required

  • Provide comprehensive care for postpartum and antepartum patients
  • Perform newborn assessments and manage immediate post-birth care
  • Monitor patients receiving Magnesium Sulfate therapy
  • Manage lactation education and postpartum recovery
  • Conduct discharge teaching and coordinate transition of care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
