EVENT TEAM STAFF Dish Food & Events Part-Time | On-Call| New York City, Hamptons, Hudson Valley

We are seeking Event Team Staff across multiple front- and back-of-house roles, including Servers, Bartenders, Sanitation, and Event Captains, to support off-premise catered events. These are part-time, on-call, non-exempt roles with flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Event Team Staff are essential to the successful execution of Dish events. Team members support events from setup through breakdown, working collaboratively to deliver polished service, maintain safety and cleanliness standards, and create a welcoming environment for every guest.
Assignments vary by event and may include service, beverage, sanitation, or leadership responsibilities. Flexibility, professionalism, and teamwork are critical, as roles may change based on event needs.
EVENT ROLES + RESPONSIBILITY Event Captains
- Serve as on-site service leaders and points of contact
- Lead pre-event briefings and manage service flow during events
- Support staff, troubleshoot issues, and uphold Dish standards
- Communicate effectively with culinary, operations, and client-facing teams
Catering Servers
- Deliver polished table, buffet, and cocktail-style service
- Execute service according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive hospitality
- Maintain food quality, presentation, and cleanliness standards
Bartenders
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages professionally
- Maintain bar setup, cleanliness, and organization
- Monitor beverage quality and responsible service standards
- Support guest experience with efficiency and warmth
Sanitation / Utility
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, kitchens, and event spaces
- Support setup, breakdown, dishwashing, and waste management
- Follow all sanitation, safety, and food-handling protocols
- Assist event flow by keeping spaces organized and functional
- EVENT EXECUTION + PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
- Arrive punctually, in proper uniform, and prepared to work assigned roles
- Follow Captain directions to assist with fully unloading van and onsite organization
- Maintain onsite safety and proper lifting techniques with heavy items
- Attend pre-event briefings to review timelines, floor plans, and expectations
- Execute setup, service, and breakdown duties as scheduled
- Adapt to real-time changes and support seamless event flow
- Follow all safety plans and report hazards immediately
- Maintain compliance with health codes, food safety, and hygiene standards
Act as a professional ambassador of Dish Food & Events at all times

CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION & PAY - Part-time, on-call, non-exempt position
- 5 hour minimum for every event
- Eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek
- Weekly payroll
- Competitive starting hourly wage (servers start at $26.50/hr, $28.00 after 3 successful shifts, KA $30.00, $31.50 after 3 shift, Lead Chef starting at $45.00, Captain starting at $45, Lead Chef start at $45.00)
