Requirements :

  • Active RN license in Connecticut.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in school health, pediatrics, or public health.
  • Current BLS certification (CPR).
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of student health regulations, immunization requirements, and infection control protocols.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic health conditions.
  • Maintain and update student health records, including immunizations and medical history.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for students with health needs.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with parents, physicians, and emergency services when necessary.
  • Promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.
  • Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure adherence to public health guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to support student well-being.
  • Ensure compliance with state laws and school health policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and school health initiatives.
