In the Nurse Manager's absence, you will take charge of patient care direction, unit operations, and staff responsibilities. Below are the essential duties and responsibilities of this role : \n
- 1. Advanced Assessment Skills : Effectively assess healthcare needs by interviewing, observing, and collecting data to perform comprehensive systems assessments upon patient admission.\n
- 2. Patient Care Planning : Initiate Interdisciplinary Plan of Care (IPOC) based on initial assessments according to hospital policies and guidelines for nursing care.\n
- 3. Care Implementation : Prioritize patient care based on assessments and identified needs.\n
- 4. Care Evaluation : Evaluate patient responses to healthcare interventions ensuring alignment with expected outcomes.\n
- 5. Documentation : Maintain accurate, appropriate, and consistent documentation of patient outcomes, assisting the Nurse Manager with regular reviews.\n
- 6. Leadership Development : Exhibit advanced knowledge in patient care delivery, serving as a resource for fellow staff members.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation : Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, with preference for a baccalaureate in nursing. All non-degreed Advanced Nurse Managers must earn 6 credit hours towards a bachelor's degree and complete 6 contact hours annually; degreed ANM must earn at least 10 contact hours annually.\n\nExperience : A minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting is preferred.\n\nLicensure : Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut. All newly hired Registered Nurses must obtain current BCLS certification within one month of hire.\n\nSpecial Skills : Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.\n\nPhysical Demand : The position requires prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to use sight, hearing, and touch; as well as moving and lifting patients of varying weights.\n\nAdditional Information : A minimum of 2 years of intraoperative RN experience is required; leadership experience is preferred.
