Boston IVF is looking for a full-time Surgical Center Nurse for our Waltham, MA location. This is a Monday-Friday role with start times varying from 6 : 30am-9am and requires one weekend / month and 2 major and 2 minor holidays on a rotating basis.

Reports to : Surgery Center Management

Summary :

In addition to acting in the capacity of Registered Nurse, the OR / PACU Nurse is proficient and knowledgeable in technical and organizational skills related to all facets of ART, GYN, and surgical procedures. Demonstrates leadership ability through implementation of Boston IVF guidelines and serves as a role model for other staff members. Maintains open communication with staff and assists in problem solving and critical thinking. Works along with the OR / PACU Resource Nurses, each of which collaborate regarding daily operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Demonstrates the ability to act independently and has thorough knowledge of Boston IVF guidelines, policies, and procedures. Assists in policy development as needed.
• Maintains communication with Management and reports to them on a regular basis regarding the status and function of the unit, as well as any patient issues.
• Demonstrates safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients in all areas of interaction.
• Facilitates and maintains consistent communications amongst Anesthesia, Physicians, Nursing and Office personnel.
• Works in a productive manner with staff members and promotes a cohesive unit.
