\nSkills : Vents, IV Start, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Blood Product Administration, Central line care / management, Continuous IV sedation, CVA / Acute Stroke management, External ventricular drains (EVD), ICP Monitoring, Post Neurosurgery management, Care of Ventilated Patient, Isolation Precautions / Use of PPE, Lumbar Drain experience

\nRATIOS : Ratios 2 : 1 (can flex up to 3 : 1 in high census and nurse must be comfortable with this if needed). Average Daily Census 11-12

\nPATIENT DIAGNOSES : We are a comprehensive stroke center. Patient population : strokes (ischemic, hemorrhagic [SAH]), SDH, craniotomies, carotid stents, carotid endarterectomies, aneurysm coiling / clipping, seizures, Depth electrodes, myasthenia gravis. Drains used : EVDs, LDs, hemovacs, Camino (ICP monitoring)

\nSPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : Comprehensive Stroke Center
\n
\nSPECIAL EQUIPMENT : EVD, Lumbar Drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM and Arctic Sun.
\n
\nUNIT SYSTEMS : Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR
\n
\nSCHEDULING TYPE : Per the Unit Needs
\n
\nUNIT ORIENTATION : 24.0 Hours; 2 days or 2 nights
\n
\nSCRUBS : Navy blue & White.
