Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Were seeking a Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across Oregon for the remainder of the school year. This role involves providing both direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across a wide age range, from early childhood through high school.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide direct instruction and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments.
Collaborate with IEP teams, families, and related service providers to ensure students have access to the curriculum and learning environments.
Conduct Functional Vision Assessments (FVA) and Learning Media Assessments (LMA) as needed.
Adapt instructional materials, including braille, large print, and tactile graphics , to meet individual visual needs.
Support the use of assistive technology for visually impaired students when appropriate.
Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications :
Valid Oregon TVI licensure or eligibility to obtain.
Experience working with students from early childhood through high school preferred.
Knowledge of vision-specific instructional strategies and supports.
Familiarity with assistive technology tools is a plus.
