Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with flexible availability, current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and at least 3 years of ER experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population
  • Provides care for individuals of all ages in an inpatient and outpatient ER setting
  • Shifts are variable with flexibility required for days, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Facility is located in a rural area and serves as a referral center for a large regional population
  • Orientation offered every 2 weeks for new staff
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are required, but exemptions may be accepted with a declination form
  • Housing may be available in shared units for $600 per month, but is not guaranteed and no family or pets are allowed
  • Staff must complete fingerprinting as part of the compliance process prior to starting
  • Work in a culturally rich and diverse community
  • No first time travelers specified as being accepted

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license from any state or compact state
  • Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency Room RN experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), ENPC, and TNCC required (may be completed within first year of employment if not already obtained)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 1 year of hire
  • Emergency Severity Index Level 5 within 3 months of hire
  • Patient Sitter Competency Training upon hire
