Utility Billing Supervisor

This position plans, organizes, and manages the activities related to the Finance Department's utility billing division, including supervising the division's employees, and providing technical and customer service support for daily operations, accurate billing and maintenance of utility billing records.
This is a supervisory position whose work performed requires the application of professional knowledge and expertise as well as established guidelines and alternatives to determine facts, analyze problems and make decisions. Incumbents operate independently and make decisions without immediate review and select appropriate methods to accomplish project assignments.

Qualifications
A combination of the experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.
Experience : Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in utility billing, municipal accounting, or other similarly related setting, with two years of lead or supervisory experience.
Education and Training : Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration or related field required.
Licenses or Certificates : Must possess, or have the ability to possess within one month of hire date, a Washington State Driver's license. Must possess, or have the ability to possess within six months of hire date, first aid and CPR certifications. Must be bondable.

This position works in an office, and the noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. This position works a regular schedule; however, incumbents may be called in to work in emergency situations.
