Cost Accountant

A private manufacturing company with more than a century of innovation and global reach is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to support its financial operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate cost data, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring sound financial insights to improve operational decision-making. The role is based on-site and reports directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain and manage cost accounting systems, including standard costs and work-in-process accounts.
• Analyze and resolve material, labor, and overhead variances related to rate, efficiency, and usage.
• Close work orders, reconcile job costs, and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Prepare and post journal entries as part of month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop cost estimates for new projects and assist in rate calculations for annual budgets.
• Investigate scrap, rework, and outside processing variances to maintain operational accuracy.
• Create and maintain fixed asset records and support audits as required.
• Represent the accounting team in meetings and collaborate across departments to improve data accuracy and process efficiency.
