Job Title : Equipment Technician / HVAC Technician

Job Description

As an Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for loading and unloading equipment, performing basic preventative maintenance, and conducting minor repairs to minimize equipment downtime. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct minor repairs to avoid equipment downtime.
• Work with Power / HVAC / Compressor / Pump equipment and accessories.
• Utilize knowledge of generators, power distribution, A / C, heaters, HVAC, and diesel-driven pumps.
• Understand and apply operational processes and systems.

Work Environment

This role requires working both indoors and outdoors, with physical demands such as bending, squatting, crouching, and lifting heavy objects. Initially, you will work in a shop at the Chesapeake location and later support maintenance at the Newport News Shipyard / HII. The work environment is dynamic and may require reasonable accommodations to comply with applicable laws.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr.
