Operations Analyst - Transportation

Position Summary : The Operations Analyst is responsible for strategic planning and evaluation to streamline efficiencies within the supply chain process. Key responsibilities ranging from scheduling and coordination of freight to packaging and follow through to achieve customer satisfaction while improving company profitability through continuous improvement actions. This position plays a critical role in the day-to-day success of the company. Key Accountabilities : Plan, initiate, and manage logistics projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products or supplies Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities and logistics quality management Coordinate the transportation and storage of imported and exported goods Monitor or trace the location of goods, anticipate schedule or priority delays, and initiate plans for alternative actions Interface with internal and external customers on schedules, meetings and problems Audit carrier partners billing detail files for mistakes and notify appropriate personnel of findings Maintain vendor database with updated contracts and rates Keep management informed of progress, development and pending problems Support continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of uniform and consistent processes Support Import / Export and CTPAT area as needed Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. Perform special projects as required Basic Requirements : Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration and 3 years of experience in customs compliance and / or logistics; or 7 years of experience in customer compliance and / or logistics Preferred Qualifications : Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved with supply chain management, strategic planning, resource allocation, customer service, production methods, information technology, and coordination of people and resources Strong ability to handle third party vendor, including tender creation, negotiation and coordination Strong analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills, when problems are complex Strong organizational, planning and follow up skills Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others Self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite Rolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
