Travel CT / Xray Technologist
American Consultants is looking for a travel CT / Xray Technologist for a facility outside of South Lake Tahoe, CA.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Travel CT / X-Ray Technologist to join our medical imaging team on a temporary assignment. The ideal candidate is proficient in both Computed Tomography (CT) and general diagnostic radiography, adaptable to new environments, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves traveling to various healthcare facilities and requires strong clinical, technical, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
CT Imaging
Perform high-quality CT scans following established protocols.Operate scanners safely and efficiently while optimizing image quality and minimizing radiation exposure.Complete advanced CT procedures, including contrast-enhanced studies, perfusion, angiography, and trauma protocols.Start IVs and administer contrast agents per facility guidelines.X-Ray / General Radiography
Conduct routine and specialized diagnostic X-ray exams.Position patients correctly to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety.Use portable and fixed radiography equipment, including OR, ER, and bedside exams.Patient Care & Safety
Verify patient identity, review exam orders, and explain procedures clearly.Follow ALARA principles and maintain strict radiation safety standards.Monitor patients before, during, and after contrast administration.Maintain a compassionate and calm bedside manner in fast-paced environments.Workflow & Documentation
Accurately document imaging procedures in PACS / RIS.Maintain equipment cleanliness and troubleshoot minor technical issues.Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff to optimize workflow.Adapt quickly to new hospital systems, equipment, and protocols.Qualifications
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; ARRT (CT) preferred or required depending on facility.Active state license(s) as required by assignment location.BLS certification (ACLS may be preferred).Minimum 1–2 years of recent clinical experience in CT and X-ray.Proficiency with PACS, RIS, and modern CT / X-ray equipment.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.About American Consultants
