About The Position

Job Title : RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : RN License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have : Ability to self-study telemetry strips and pass a basic dysrhythmia test

Description :

The traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance.

A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week of the assignment.

Passing the dysrhythmia test is required to work in the telemetry and medical / surgical unit.

The position involves delivering care to patients using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.

Care is coordinated with other health team members.

The traveler will effectively interact with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing.

High-quality care is provided to various patient populations including geriatric, medical / surgical, adult, and telemetry.

Travelers may be required to float to non-critical care inpatient units and, on occasion, to critical care units if they have relevant experience.

There is a requirement for every other weekend rotation.

Telemetry ratios are currently 1 : 4 on days and 1 : 5 on nights.

Medical / surgical ratios are currently 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights.

Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
