A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. • Work on A4 orthopedic trauma specialty medical-surgical unit with 36 beds
• Patient ratios 1 : 5, may flex to 1 : 6
• Must arrive by 6 : 45 AM / 6 : 45 PM for huddle (considered tardy by hospital policy at 6 : 53 AM / 6 : 53 PM)
• Four weekend commitment required
• Float to all medical-surgical units as needed
• Work with telemetry equipment and Meditech EMR system
• Care for polytrauma patients, non-surgical cervical fractures, trauma patients with downgraded TBI
• Manage patients with no more than 3 drains and burn downgrades
• Administer Heparin and Protonix drips
• Work with day shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs
• Work with night shift staffing of 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and 3 CNAs
• Required : 1 year medical-surgical experience, ACLS, BLS certifications
• Preferred : Orthopedic and / or trauma patient experience
• Dress code requires royal blue scrubs
