Description
The Civil Engineer will support the design, planning, and execution of complex water and wastewater pipeline projects within a manufacturing and field operations environment. This role combines technical engineering expertise with hands-on involvement in material take-offs, client coordination, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate brings a background in utility infrastructure, thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting, and is comfortable balancing both in-office engineering tasks and field-based responsibilities. The Civil Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of custom pipeline solutions delivered to municipal, industrial, and private clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret underground utility (water and wastewater) plans and specifications
- Collaborate with sales, estimating, and operations teams to develop accurate material take-offs and customer quotes
- Provide product design input and prepare detailed specifications for pricing and fabrication
- Utilize AutoCAD or similar drafting tools to support drawing development and revisions
- Review and verify fitting detail drawings for technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications
- Perform quality inspections of pipe materials and fittings received from suppliers
- Communicate effectively with civil contractors, consulting engineers, and municipal personnel to resolve project-specific questions
- Support internal sales teams with technical insights and solutions
- Prepare submittal packages for engineering approval
- Maintain organized records and documentation for all technical drawings, approvals, and material specs
- Design thrust blocks for tapping and line stop projects as needed
- Contribute to process improvements and technical standards related to pipeline services
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master's a plusActive PE license strongly preferred (required for higher compensation tier)3+ years of experience in civil or utility infrastructure projects; water / wastewater or manufacturing background a plusFamiliarity with water transmission pipe materials and underground utility systemsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word); AutoCAD or CAD-based software preferredStrong math, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working in a deadline-driven environment with shifting field and client demandsInperson expectation : Full-time presence at our Fort Worth locationMobility : Regular movement within shop and job sites; ability to access elevated platformsLifting requirement : Frequently lift up to 50 lbsPhysical stamina : Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs or ladders throughout shiftsWorking conditions : Exposure to noise, materials, and weather during field workSafety compliance : Adherence to PPE use and OSHA safety protocols (boots, hard hats, etc.)Benefits
