Utilities Shift Operator

• A Hume Lake Christian Camps water plant operator is responsible for following established directives and training from the chief operators in both the water and wastewater plant, providing high quality drinking water, and ensuring proper disposal of waste.  Why Join Us?  Be part of a mission-driven, faith-based organization that is dedicated to making a lasting impact on the lives of youth and families.  With 3 beautiful camp locations, we offer a unique opportunity for year-round camping ministries dedicated to the glory of God.  Be a part of something meaningful where your work directly contributes to making memorable experiences and fostering spiritual growth.  Work in a supportive Christian community in a beautiful environment that values faith, growth, and relationships.  The Role :   Responsible for following established directives and training from the chief operators in both water and wastewater plants by : Plant operation, plant monitoring, sampling, record keeping, service, and repair  Maintaining sanitation of water through pipes to buildings and facilities Provide good, clear, sanitized, effluent and dry sludge (bio solids) by :   Plant monitoring, record keeping, service, and repairs  Pulling sludge from plant to drying fields  Daily walk through of plant evaporation ponds, spray fields, and sludge drying fields  Manage distribution system and collection system by : Drinking water line / leak repairs, flushing, hydrant testing, valve exercising / replacement  Wastewater collection   Perform new / repair projects on plant, facilities, lines, lift stations etc.  Use the following equipment : back-hoe; skid steer; dump truck, basic & reaching forklift, compactor, jack hammer, hand tools, power tools, large air compressors, etc.   Our Ideal Candidate :   Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
• Must agree with Hume Lake’s Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake’s Code of Conduct.
• Must be able to live in Hume Lake housing or provide private accommodations conducive to guests and conference needs.
• High School Graduate or higher.
• Strong work ethic and mechanical skills needed.
