Construction Inspector N-Y Associates, Inc. Metairie, LA Job Description Construction Inspector. Minimum of 5 years experience. In this position you will assume resident project oversight to observe compliance in the testing and inspection field roles on various types of infrastructure projects such as monitoring, public utilities, roadways, etc. for local municipalities. Individual should have experience in monitoring construction schedules, reading and understanding construction documents, coordinating with design professionals, reviewing pay application and maintaining daily logs identifying construction activities. Current construction inspection openings are within Orleans Parish. Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook Organized and detail oriented Excellent written and oral communication skills Understand construction activities involving the construction of public utilities, roadways, and drainage systems Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation Awareness of safety requirements and practices Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities : Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Monitor construction schedules Review pay applications Maintain daily logs identifying construction activities Provide clear documentation of findings and results Performs analysis and verification of quantities Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager and / or Engineer Use of Procore for Daily Field Reports Salary Commensurate with experience N-Y Associates, Inc. was established 56 years ago and is an award-winning architecture / engineering firm.
