Responsibilities

As an Industrial Security Representative Level III, you will report to the Special Programs Office Manager / Facility Security Officer (FSO), who is responsible for oversight and supervision of the Laboratory's Industrial Security Program. In this position, you will :

• Lead classified records and information management for the National Programs Office (NPO) business development activities, and the National Programs Implementation Office (NPIO) ongoing business.
• Be assigned as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to one or more programs.
• Research legal requirements and determine polices for the destruction of classified information.
• Ensure compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) and all security protocols required by customers or contracts and keep abreast of ever-changing industrial security regulations.
• Train and orient employees in security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government and customer regulations.
• Understand and apply advanced principles, theories, concepts and techniques within the relevant industrial security fields of knowledge.
• Understand and apply Laboratory policies and procedures, NASA policies and procedures, and government regulations.
• Work independently on key projects and assignments with only limited direction, typically receiving few or no instructions.
• Approve others' work and ensure compliance with requirements on key projects and assignments.
• As a team leader, be accountable for team results on such projects and assignments, including performance standards, budget and schedule.
• Mentor and coach others internal and external to organization.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluating potential approaches and solutions to critical problems and determining appropriate resolutions.
• Initiate interaction with colleagues or functional partners outside own organization on a frequent basis.
