American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position on night shifts, requiring at least two years of recent experience and proficiency in telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit within a large, teaching Level I trauma facilityPatient population includes medicine, cardiology, telemetry, surgical / vascular, ortho, neuro, gyn, and urology cases, with a focus on trauma and vulnerable populationsNight shifts (3x12 hours, 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) with every other weekend requiredNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3-4 on days and 1 : 4-5 on nightsFloating within scope required based on hospital needsNo on-call responsibilitiesUses Epic EMR; proficiency and experience with Epic are requiredSolid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are provided on the unitResponsible for providing advanced care to a diverse, acute patient population in a fast-paced environmentWill work with a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-designated teaching hospitalTraining includes pre-start online modules (5-6 hours) and Epic module during orientationA test on EKG and dysrhythmia management will be administered prior to startCandidates may have one of three major holidays off and up to three non-holiday RTO days, with specific holiday period restrictionsRTO is not allowed during orientation week and must be finalized before contract acceptanceParking is available at a nightly rateNo radius restrictions for local candidates; locals are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at the time of applicationMinimum 2 years recent Med / Surg Telemetry experience; 3 years strongly preferredCurrent BCLS certification required; ACLS and CPI highly preferredPhlebotomy skills requiredProficient in telemetry, IV starts, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmiasMust pass an EKG exam with a score of at least 80%Epic EMR experience requiredFirst-time travelers not accepted; must have completed at least two previous travel contractsPrior staff must have been separated for at least 18 months before returning as a travelerCOVID vaccination and booster required, with no exceptions\n Benefits\n
