Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Case Manager for admitted patients.
• Document patient care performed, assessments made, and orders given.
• Suggest and participate in efforts to improve cost effectiveness of care provided to patients across the organization.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending, and / or consulting physician for patients requiring hospitalization, depending on patient needs, medical staff, and hospital.
• Participate in academic programs (e.g., medical education and research) as requested.
• Develop and oversee the patient care plan in coordination with the entire clinical care team.
• Ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care in a timely, effective, service-oriented manner.
• Promote age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination in patient care.
