Job description

Are you an experienced Gastroenterologist seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania? A healthcare facility near Girardville is in need of a skilled physician to provide supplemental coverage for their Gastroenterology department.

Assignment Overview :

  • Position : Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist
  • Location : Near Girardville, PA
  • Start Date : ASAP
  • End Date : December 31, 2025
  • Practice Setting : Both inpatient and outpatient
  • EMR System : Epic

Key Details :

  • Coverage Type : Scheduled clinical hours plus call
  • Certifications Required :

    • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology

  • ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Specialty Skills Needed :

    • Upper and lower GI endoscopy

  • Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ERCP and PEG
  • Esophageal manometry, liver biopsy, and EUS
  • Colonoscopy with polyp excision and biopsy

    • Call Requirements :

  • Call Type : Beeper
  • Response Time : 20 minutes
  • Call Ratio : 1 : 5
  • Patients : Unassigned

    • Support and Resources :

  • Support Staff : Includes 2 advanced practice providers (PA / NPs)
  • Insurance : Provided by the vendor
  • Travel and Lodging : Recommendations available

  • Fellowship training is required.
  • Hospital and surgery center privileges are necessary; credentialing typically takes 45-60 days.
